Now we’re really going uphill – and in comfort!
The new cable car from St. Zyprian to Carezza
Christmas has come early this year: a new mountain railway connects St Zyprian/Tiers with the Carezza ski resort and the hiking paradise below the Rosengarten.
Italy‘s first convertible mountain railway
The new Tierser mountain railway establishes a direct cable car connection from Tiers/St Zyprian to the skiing, hiking and biking resort Carezza Dolomites. In only 7 minutes’ travelling time the 3.8 km aerial tramway with 60 seats conquers an altitude difference of 644 metres. The high altitude of the line and the design of Italy’s first convertible train greatly enhance the travelling and landscape experience.
From Dosses on the cable car and directly to the slopes in Carezza
It’s hard to believe the valley station is only a few minutes’ walk from Hotel Dosses! What this means for you as our guest: in a few minutes you can reach the 40 km of pristine snow covered slopes, as well as the cross country and hiking trails below the Rosengarten.
The South Tyrolean architect Werner Tscholl is responsible for the project; in 2016 he was nominated Italy’s Architect of the Year. His approach involves the embedding of the mountain and valley stations into the landscape below the Rosengarten. Under the motto “less is more – nothing is better”, the station buildings were designed to be completely “invisible”, the buildings disappearing underground in the meadows, with only the entrances and exits remaining visible. The actual architecture reveals itself inside the stations.
For guests at Hotel Dosses, the Tiers cable car is a gateway to the UNESCO world heritage Rosengarten and is a milestone on the way to making the natural paradise below the Rosengarten a car-free experience. In the summer months, you will be able to reach the Kölner Hütte, Karersee or Welschnofen on foot, by bike or by cable car from Tiers.
From the hotel we take you by Dosses shuttle bus to the valley station and from there it's straight onto the slopes in Carezza!
