There is a lot to see: Attractions in the near vicinity
The nearby South Tyrolean capital is always a visit worth. The picturesque old town with the arcades and the Kornplatz invite you to stroll. Here the Middle Ages, Baroque and modern times liveharmoniously side by side. In the magnificent town houses you will find many interesting shops, cafes and restaurants. We really recommend a visit to the South Tyrolean Museum of Archaeology, where among other finds from ancient times the world-famous Iceman "Ötzi" is to see.
Built in the 12th century, brought in his stately form today in the 16th century this is considered the most important castle building in Tyrol from the Maximilian time in late Gothic style. Worth seeing are the pillar hall with its impressive collection of weapons, the pillar room and the chapel.
A total of six Messner Mountain Museums have been erected in South Tyrol by the great mountaineer and called after his "15 eighteen thousand ". Their heart is located at Sigmundskron Castle near Bozen - the "enchanted mountain". A must for all true mountain lovers. Here our great-grandfather Franz Schroffenegger is honored with a photo.

Nature Park House
All what is to know about Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park is informed you by the Nature Park House at the entrance of Tschamin valley. The museum is housed in a former sawmill. The old water-powered Venetian saw can be admired in action today in exhibition performances.
The exhibition in the St.Michael Chapel at the cemetery shows late Gothic sacred art from the regional churches. A treat not only for art lovers is the altar of the small church of St. Peter am Buhl.
Herb garden Pflegerhof
On a steep slope below Seis am Schlern at St.Oswald is the Pflegerhof. The show garden with over 200 herbs is a fragrant event. Let yourself be explained by the farmer, what are the features of all flavors and essences. Of course, you can buy natural products made from herbs in a rich selection on site.
School museum Tagusens
A nostalgic journey into the past, which you certainly cannot escape : In the secluded place Tagusens much remained from earlier times, which was long ago replaced elsewhere. So also the inventory of this small school museum, which is anything but boring!
The alpine lake below Karerpass in the western Dolomites, lying about 25 km from Bozen is one of the most beautiful mountain lakes at all. It lies at an altitude of 1,520 m and fascinates with its unfathomable deep blue, where the Latemar group reflects.
Southeast of Bozen in Deutschnofen is the most famous place of pilgrimage in South Tyrol. 1553 Virgin Holy Mary should have appeared here to Leonhard Weißensteiner to cure him of a serious illness. Today it houses the Servite Monastery. In his church there is among others the image of the Sorrowful Lady, which was located in a chapel, originally donated by Weißensteiner.
In Aldein at the bottom of the Weißhorn south of Bozen, the Blätterbach flows through a canyon that is often defined as the "Grand Canyon of South Tyrol". This is famous for fossils, is at the same time a natural wonder, which originated during the ice age about 15,000 years ago.
Around Tiers and throughout the Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park numerous huts are located on the hiking trails that invite you to stop. Enjoy South Tyrolean specialties and a fresh drink. The Tschafon hut, the Haniger Schwaige, the Tieres Alpl or the Messner Joch hut are just a few examples of the many worthwhile huts in the hiking area.
